MILTON, Del. (AP)- A nonprofit group says it is seeking cash donations to buy and reopen an early 20th century theater in Milton.
The Milton Development Corp. is seeking to come up with $375,000 in cash donations to buy the theater, fix up its stage and re-establish it as a venue.
The nonprofit previously owned the theater but lost it in foreclosure two years ago. It is now owned by the Delaware Community Investment Corp.
The theater once hosted plays and concerts and is now the largest vacant building in Milton's downtown. Paul Weagraff, director of the Delaware Division of the Arts, says reopening the theater could help boost Milton's economy.
