SALISBURY, Md.- Officials have issued swimming and fishing advisories for the Wicomico River after wastewater started flowing from a malfunctioning pump station in Salisbury.

The incident at the South Side Pump Station on Ridge Road started happening mid-Tuesday afternoon. Crews worked several hours to stop the overflow, which appears to have been stopped. However, crews remained on the scene of the overflow on Wednesday.
