Posted: Updated:

SMYRNA, Del. (AP/WBOC)- The Delaware Department of Transportation confirms that traffic is back to normal in Kent County after a propane truck leaking toxic fumes closed Route 1 near Smyrna on Friday night.

The closure lasted until early Saturday morning.

Officials said Route 1 southbound at exit 119, as well as Route 1 northbound at exit 114, were closed while workers from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control were monitoring the propane truck to make sure the spill did not impact the environment.

Emptying the leaking trailer with flaring equipment took several hours.
