FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police have charged two men with stealing 76 bronze vases from a Frederick cemetery.
Twenty-two-year-old Christopher Wachter of Thurmont and 34-year-old Robert Michael Shriner Jr. of Hagerstown are each charged with theft, destruction of property and destroying a funerary object.
Troopers said that the men stole the vases between Aug. 20 and Sept. 19 from Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Troopers said the vases had a total value of more than $25,000.
Authorities say the men sold the vases to a recycling center.
