CAMDEN, Del.- Delaware State Police say a man was taken into custody Wednesday night after barricading himself in a home in the Wild Quail housing development in Camden for more than 10 hours.
Police said that at around noon, troopers received a report of a man with a firearm barricaded inside a home on Green Winged Trail following a domestic incident.
After arriving to the development, troopers evacuated several homes in the area as a precaution.
According to police, troopers attempted to make contact with the man in the home for several hours.
Authorities said the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team entered the home shortly after 10 p.m., 49-year-old man was located inside and taken into custody without incident.
The man suffered undisclosed self-inflicted wounds and was treated by Special Operations Response Team medics before being transported to a local hospital, police said.
Police said the evacuated residents were able to return to their homes and that the incident is still being investigated with charges pending.
