Dover, DE - Delaware State University defensive back Davon Moore (jr.; Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) has been honored by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and College Football Performance for his play in the Hornets' 20-17 win at Norfolk State last Saturday.

Moore was named MEAC Defensive Player-of-the Week and College Football Performance HBCU National Defensive Back-of-the-Week after recording eight tackles (six unassisted), two interceptions, a forced fumble, pass break-up and a block in the contest. His second interception at the DSU 11 sealed the Hornet victory with 29 seconds left to play.

Moore was the first Hornet with at least two interceptions in a game since Greg Ligon vs. Hampton in 2009.

For the season, Moore is tops on the Hornets and tied for first among all MEAC players with 50 tackles. He's also tied for third in the league at 10.0 tackles per game. In addition, he's tied for second in the MEAC with three interceptions and leads the league with 132 interception return yards.

Nationally, Moore is second among all Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) players in interception return yards and tied for fifth in interceptions per game (0.60) this season.
Moore and the Hornets (2-3 overall; 1-1 MEAC) return to action this Saturday (Oct. 13) at home against South Carolina State. The Parents' Day/Hall-of-Fame Day contest kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
