DOVER, Del. (AP)- Delaware Gov. Jack Markell has raised more than $741,000 this year in his campaign for a second term.

But a new campaign finance report filed with the Delaware commissioner of elections shows that the Democratic governor has spent money at an even greater clip.

Markell reported spending about $865,000 so far this year. That includes $302,000 paid over the past few weeks to The Campaign Group, a Philadelphia-based political advertising firm.

Markell's Republican challenger, Jeff Cragg, and other candidates for state and local office must file or postmark their own campaign finance reports no later than Tuesday.
