Cambridge Police: Man Shot in Robbery Attempt


CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Cambridge police are investigating an attempted robbery that ended with a man being shot in the leg.

Police said that at around 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, officers responded to a reported shooting in the area of Glasgow Street and Linden Avenue. Officers met with the victim, who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper right leg.

The victim told police that he was driving in the area when he picked up a unknown male who asked him for a ride to the Zip-Mart convenient store. According to the victim, while the two were driving on Glasgow Street, the unknown male pulled out a handgun and demanded money from him. The victim said he then attempted to jump out of the moving vehicle when he was shot.

After the victim fled from the vehicle, the vehicle then struck a parked car. The suspect then ran away.

The victim was taken to Dorchester General Hospital where he was treated for his injury and released.
