








(Photo: CBS)BALTIMORE (AP)- Maryland health officials say a ninth person has developed meningitis after receiving a steroid injection intended to ease back pain.
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene updated its total on Wednesday, confirming one additional case from the day before. Of those, one person has died.
The medication, made by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts, has been recalled.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recorded more than 135 illnesses and 12 deaths in 10 states.
