SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury man is behind bars on rape and related charges.
Salisbury police said that on Friday, Oct. 5, officers were called to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where they met with a woman who informed them that an acquaintance had forced her to engage in sexual intercourse against her will.
On Wednesday, Oct. 10, members of the U.S. Marshals Capitol Area Fugitive Task Force arrested 27-year-old Darnell Labryant Townsend in connection with the alleged incident.
Townsend was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree assault, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. He is being held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bond.
