Police Probe Fatal Fruitland Crash

FRUITLAND, Md.- Fruitland police are investigating a Thursday morning single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of the driver.

Police said that at around 11:30 a.m. a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on North Fruitland Boulevard (Route 13) where it intersects with West Cedar Lane. The driver, who was the vehicle's sole occupant, was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center. The driver was later pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and police are withholding the victim's name pending notification of next of kin.
