Boy, 4, Falls From 9th-Floor Window in Md.

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - Montgomery County police say a 4-year-old boy is in serious condition after falling from the ninth-floor window of a Silver Spring apartment building.

Police say they were called to the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road for a report of an injured child about 3:15 p.m. Thursday. The boy was taken to Children's National Medical Center in Washington.

Police say detectives from the Family Crimes Division and Child Protective Services are investigating the fall.
