Canadian Pleads Guilty to Sex With 14-Year-Old

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Canadian man has pleaded guilty to coercion and enticement of a 14-year-old girl he met online.

Forty-four-year-old David Gellad of Rosemere, Quebec, Canada, entered the plea Thursday in U.S. District Court in Wilmington. He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison at sentencing on Jan. 24.

Prosecutors say Gellad began communicating with the girl in October 2010.

Prosecutors say Gellad traveled to the girl's home in Pennsylvania and had sex with her. Officials say on another occasion, Gellad met the girl at her home and drove her to a hotel in Newark, where he had sex with her.

The victim's father found text messages between the two and notified authorities. Gellad was arrested on July 23, 2011 when he attempted to enter the United States.
