NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Colonial School District officials are looking at changes to school feeder patterns because of student overcrowding.
Officials planned to discuss the proposed changes at public meeting Monday evening in New Castle.
The proposal includes moving 600 students from three existing elementary schools to create the New Castle Elementary School, which officials say is an underutilized building used for special education students, an adult integration program, and students enrolled in a credit recovery program.
Students currently at New Castle would be moved to another building adjacent to William Penn High School.
