Laurel House Fire Ruled Arson

LAUREL, Del.- The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office have ruled a house fire that occurred Tuesday morning in Laurel was intentionally set.

The fire was reported at around 2:43 a.m. on the 200 block of West Sixth Street.

The Laurel Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by the Delmar and Sharptown, Md., fire departments.  

The home was occupied at the time of the fire but everyone got out safely, according to investigators. The home was found to be equipped with working smoke detectors. Damages have been estimated at $1,000. 

State Fire Marshal investigators have ruled the fire as arson.  Anyone with information should contact the State Fire Marshal's Office at (302)856-5600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
