SALISBURY, Md.- Police say a man is behind bars for assaulting two people in a Salisbury bar last month.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said 39-year-old Thomas Wayne Cannon of Mardela Springs was taken into custody on Oct. 5, in connection with an incident alleged to have occurred on Sept. 26. Police said that on that date, Cannon and several other people were in a bar on Northwood Drive when they got into a fight over $20.

According to police, two victims claimed that Cannon knocked them to the ground and assaulted them. Authorities said one victim was treated for multiple contusions at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Cannon was charged with second-degree assault and held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond.
