DELMAR, Md.- Authorities say a Salisbury man is facing charges for stealing scrap metal from a Delmar farm.
At around 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office responded to the 9000 block of Rum Ridge Road for a reported theft.
According to police, a witness saw a man taking metal shelving from an unused chicken house on the property. Police said the witness was able to provide a description of the man's vehicle and the tag number.
Authorities said the deputy met with the owner of the property, who said that a substantial amount of shelving and other metal items were missing.
According to reports, deputies in the area located a vehicle matching the description and stopped the driver, 24-year-old Samuel A. Milbourne.
Police said that a subsequent investigation revealed that Milbourne had already sold the stolen scrap metal to a local recycler and he had been to the recycler to sell scrap metal four times that day.
Milbourne was arrested and charged with theft. He was released on personal recognizance.
