ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan says Pierre Garcon's foot injury is "very much a mystery" and that the receiver could be back in a couple of days or perhaps two to three more weeks.
Garcon did not practice Wednesday. He has missed three of the Redskins' first six games with a painful inflammation below the second toe in his right foot.
Garcon has trouble pushing off and says he can't run at his usual speed. He says he probably tried to return too soon when he played in Weeks 4 and 5.
Garcon has only eight catches for 153 yards. He joined the Redskins with a $42.5 million, five-year contract this offseason.
The Redskins play the New York Giants on Sunday.
