Hurlock Man Arrested for Scrap Metal Theft

HURLOCK, Md.- Police have arrested a Hurlock man accused of stealing scrap metal belong to his neighbor.

Hurlock police said that shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 500 block of Penn Street for a report of suspicious activity. Officers said that when they arrived, they observed 30-year-old Joel L. Meredith 3rd taking scrap metal from his neighbor's shed.

Meredith was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree burglary, theft under $100 and trespassing. He was ordered held in the Dorchester County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond.
