3 Men Charged With Stealing Copper Wire in Del.


WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Authorities say three men have been arrested and charged with stealing copper wire from Delmarva Power utility poles.

Wilmington police Cpl. Jamaine Crawford says the thefts were reported about 8:20 p.m. Thursday in the area of 32nd and Monroe streets.

Police say 23-year-old James Darden of New Castle, 24-year-old Terrell Mercado of Wilmington and 29-year-old Brandon Harris in Edgemoor have been charged with theft, conspiracy, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

Crawford says Darden and Harris had previous felony convictions, and Mercado and Harris were convicted drug offenders.
