NEWARK, Del. (AP)- New Castle County Police are investigating an attempted home invasion in Newark.
Police say they were called Sunday morning around 7:36 a.m. to the Sparrow Run Townhouses. A 46-year-old woman reported that a man attempted to force his way into her home on Heron Court but fled after she confronted him.
The woman told police she was inside the home when she heard someone attempting to get in through a door. The woman pushed the door shut and began yelling at the intruder. The woman told police she then saw the man walking away from the home and that he appeared to be armed.
Police say the man was wearing dark clothing and had his face concealed.
