BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- Paul Kohorn , who is spending this fall as an assistant coach for the Washington College women's soccer team, has been named the 2012 Girls Soccer High School Coach of the Year by the Illinois High School Association.

Last spring, Kohorn guided the Lisle High School girls team to a final record of 15-11. Starting five freshmen and just one senior, the team lost seven of its first nine games before winning 13 of its next 15, finishing fourth in the state tournament.

In conference play, Lisle went 7-2 to tie for second place. During a five-game stretch in the postseason, Lisle avenged three regular-season losses and won three overtime games, allowing just two goals in that span.

This is the second time in three years Kohorn has been named the IHSA Girls Soccer High School Coach of the Year.  He also won the award in 2010. Kohorn has a combined record of 171-125-24 as boys and girls head coach at Lisle since the 2003-04 academic year.
