Ibe, Iosia Named PRMC UMES Athletes of the Week

PRINCESS ANNE, Md.– Senior Ndidi Ibe (North Richland Hills, Texas) and sophomore Saitaua Iosia (Long Beach, Calif.) have been named the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 22.

This is the first time that the volleyball team has swept the award this season. Ibe became the first MEAC player to earn triple digit kills and blocks this season in UMES' 3-0 victory over Delaware State. She posted 15 kills and a team-high four blocks in the victory, before she had 8 kills, three digs and a pair of blocks in the Hawks' 3-0 win over Morgan State. Ibe also contributed four service aces against MSU. Ibe leads the Hawks with 103 blocks this year.

Iosia continued her strong play this season with two great games this past week. She began the week with a 17 kill, three dig and two block effort against DSU. She notched double-digit for the second consecutive game with a 14 kill, five dig performance against Morgan State. Iosia leads the Hawks with a 4.29 kills-per-set average this season.
