Laurel Teens Charged With Burglarizing Same Home Twice

LAUREL, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested two Laurel teens accused of burglarizing the same home twice in a row.
 
Police said the incidents occurred during the evenings hours of Oct. 20 and Oct. 21, when the suspects, ages 16 and 17 respectively, entered a home located on the 35000 block of Moss Lane in the Scottsdale Mobile Home Park in Laurel. According to police, the suspects forced their way into the home through a rear window and once inside, they removed a shotgun, ammunition, a knife and an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
Troopers were able to track down the two suspects, who lived in the park, through information obtained from the park manager.  Troopers then contacted the parents of the teens and located all of the items that were stolen from the victim in the homes of the suspects, according to police. 

The juveniles were taken into custody and charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, theft of a firearm, second-degree conspiracy, two counts of theft under $1,500 and criminal mischief. The 16-year-old was committed to the Stevenson House in Milford on $9,500 secured bail.  The 17-year-old was released to the custody of his parents.
