Del. Police Investigate Attempted Robbery

DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police are looking for a suspect wanted for the attempted robbery of a Dover convenience store.

According to police, shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday a male suspect entered Mike's Food Mart at 1378 South Governors Ave., produced a handgun and demanded money.

Police said an employee began fighting with the suspect and was hit on the head with the gun. Troopers said the suspect then ran out of the store was last seen heading toward Webbs Lane. The suspect did not get any money or any other items during the holdup.

The 36-year-old male employee did not request medical attention, investigators said.

Police described the suspect as black, between 5-foot-7 and 6-foot-tall, average build and weighing 160-190 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and was armed with an unknown type handgun.
