Elderly Man Mugged in Dover

DOVER, Del.- Authorities say a 73-year-old man was robbed in broad daylight Monday afternoon while walking along Independence Boulevard in Dover. 

Dover police said that at approximately 1 p.m., the victim was walking northbound on Independence Boulevard near Greenblade Drive when two men approached him from behind.

Police said one of the men put the victim in a choke hold while the other took his keys and cellphone.

According to investigators, the men threw the victim to the ground and then ran away.

Authorities said the victim was not injured in the incident.

Police described one of the suspects as black, 18-22 years of age, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, small build and wearing all black clothing. The other suspect was described as black, 18-22 years of age and wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
