DOVER, Del. (WBOC/AP)- The Delaware Department of Transportation said crews are removing 12 large, span-wire overhead signs along the coast in Sussex County prior to Hurricane Sandy's arrival.
DelDOT said Friday the signs along Route 1 will be removed starting Saturday morning. The span wires and flashing lights will stay in place. Crews are also securing temporary traffic signs at construction sites.
DelDOT is also asking that political campaigns remove political signs along state roadways before the storm hits, especially large signs that may become airborne.
