








DOVER, DE – Junior Jessica Croucher (Brisbane, Australia) collected her second straight double double Sunday
afternoon as the Delaware State University volleyball team was pushed
the max in a 3-2 (22-25, 25-15, 25-13, 27-25, 16-14) victory over Howard
University at Memorial Hall to snap an eight-game losing streak.
Croucher
posted 17 kills with a .406 hitting percentage (17/4/32) and 18 digs in
the Hornets' win. She also tallied a team-high three aces.
Fellow
junior Brooke Redmon (Warrenton, Va.) and senior Laisha Davis (Riviera
Beach, Fla.) added 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Redmon posted a .450
hitting percentage (11/2/20) while Davis led the match at a .471 clip (10/2/17).
Freshman
Jasmine Jackson (South Riding, Va.) also recorded double-figure digs
with 12. Senior Bel Fakaosi (Salt Lake City, Utah) marked a match-high
46 assists.
The win was Delaware State's first since
Sept. 28 when the Hornets defeated the Lady Bison, 3-0, in Washington,
D.C. With the victory, DSU improves to 5-17 overall and 2-7 in the
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Howard falls to 0-20 and 0-8 in
conference play on the year.
Del State has finished the home portion of their schedule and next travel to Baltimore, Md. to take on Coppin State at 7 p.m. Friday and Morgan State at 3 p.m. Sunday.
