FRUITLAND, Md.- Authorities are investigating a fire that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to a home in Fruitland.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze broke out at around 3:29 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at a one-story home located at 208 Morris St.
It took 30 firefighters from Fruitland, Salisbury Station 1 and Allen approximately 45 minutes to get the fire under control.
Three family pets perished in the fire. The fire caused approximately $65,000 in damage to the home and another $5,000 in damage to its contents.
Investigators determined the fire started in a rear bedroom. They are still searching for the cause of the fire.
The home's occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross.
