Officials with the Division of Parks and Recreation said volunteers are needed at parks statewide, from Wilmington to the beaches at the seashore state parks, to help remove downed limbs and debris and ensure that all public use areas are safe and accessible.

Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and groups, including families, businesses, schools and colleges, places of worship, scouts, and community organizations. To sign up for volunteering, visit destateparks.com/Sandy.
