








BALTIMORE, MD – The Delaware State University volleyball team looked as
though they were going to leave Hill Field House with a victory Sunday
afternoon, but Morgan State had other ideas as they came from behind to
defeat the Hornets, 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 26-24, 22-25, 12-15) in
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play.
Sophomore Edarkis
Branch (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished the afternoon with a double double
of 13 kills and 13 digs in addition to four block assists, two assists
and one ace.
Junior Brooke Redmon (Warrenton, Va.) also
collected double-figure kills with 12 on a .409 hitting percentage. She
added five block assists for DSU.
Senior Bel Fakaosi (Salt Lake City, Utah) tallied 42 assists for the Hornets in addition to 16 digs and one block assist.
Freshman
Jasmine Jackson (South Riding, Va.) also saw double figure digs with
14. Additionally, Jackson posted eight kills, two aces, one assist and
four block assists.
Delaware State outblocked the Bears, 11-6 in the match.
Morgan State was led by Ashley Johnson and Samantha Prescott, who combined for 48 of the team's 68 kills.
The Hornets wrap up the regular season next weekend as they travel to Norfolk State for a 7 p.m. match Friday and Hampton for a 3 p.m. match Sunday.
