Route 1 Reopens Between Dewey and Bethany Beaches

INDIAN RIVER INLET, Del.- The Delaware Department of Transportation says that as of 5 p.m. Sunday, Del. Route 1 is back open, allowing motorists to travel from Lewes, Rehoboth & Dewey across the Indian River Inlet Bridge to Bethany, Fenwick Island as well as well as Ocean City, Md.

The northbound and southbound lanes of the Indian River Inlet Bridge are also now open.

That section of Route 1 had been closed due to Hurricane Sandy.
