DelDOT Issues Update on Route 1, Prime Hook Road

INDIAN RIVER INLET, Del.- According to the Delaware Department of Transportation, one lane of northbound Route 1 is closed, approximately a half mile south of Dewey Beach near the Indian River Inlet.  

In related Route 1 news:

  • The road and the inlet bridge remain open to traffic now and were open throughout the storm.
  • DelDOT crews are working along the shoulder and in right lane clearing debris.
  • There is still some water puddled in a portion of the lane, but the water is draining away.

Prime Hook Road remains closed because of tidal flooding. According to DelDOT: 

  • Crews will monitor the road throughout the day.
  • DelDOT has reopened temporary access for emergency services and residents to Prime Hook over private property from North Bay Shore Drive.
