YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's Chelsi Biener and Kelly Edmunds were both named to All-Capital Athletic Conference Teams, it was announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. Both Biener and Edmunds received second team recognition for the first time in their career.
Biener and Edmunds are the first Wolverines to earn All-CAC honors since 2008 when Gina Orrben received second team honors. The two recipients are the second most Wesley has had since joining the conference in 2007.
A sophomore from Newfield, N.J., Biener led the Wolverines with ten goals and an assist for 21 points. Her ten goals finished fourth in the CAC while her 21 points were fifth in the conference. Biener closed out the 2012 season with a hat trick at Trinity (D.C.) and converted in a shootout in the CAC Tournament at York (Pa.).
Edmunds finished second on the squad with five goals and 12 points despite missing six games due to injury. A sophomore native of Dennisville, N.J., Edmunds also tallied a pair of assists on the season.
The Wolverines finished the 2012 season with an 8-8-2 mark, its best mark since 2007.
