








DOVER, DE - Wesley College's football team will find out if it will advance to its eighth-straight NCAA Tournament on Sunday, November 11 at 6:00 pm. Fans catch watch the selection show live on the NCAA website at http://www.ncaa.com/live/player?vid=2012/602&date=2012/11/11.
The Wolverines (8-1) are currently ranked fifth in the American Football Coaches Association and sixth in the D3football.com Top 25 polls. They also entered today
ranked second in the South Region of the latest NCAA regional rankings,
just behind No. 2 Mary Hardin-Baylor. Wesley has also advanced
three-straight National Semifinal games and five of the last seven.
Senior quarterback Justin Sottilare
has led an offense that is averaging nearly 29 points a game with his
2,359 passing yards and 23 touchdowns. The 2010 South Region Offensive
Player of the Year has also completed 60.6 percent of his passes. His
most frequent target has been sophomore Steve Koudossou who leads the team with 40 catches for 516 receiving yards and six touchdowns despite missing a pair of games.
On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore linebacker Sosthene Kapepula
averages just under ten tackles per game and has a team-high 7.5 tackles
for loss. The 2011 ECAC Defensive Rookie of the Year has also forced
and recovered a pair of fumbles while breaking up six passes. Right
behind him is junior safety Jared Morris
who has 56 tackles with 7.5 going for loss. The converted wide receiver
also leads the team with six interceptions while junior cornerback Leon Jones has three.
Special Teams has also been solid for the Wolverines all season with junior punt returner Sean Hopkins
leading the Nation with a 22.2 yards per return average. Also a
converted wide receiver, Hopkins forms a starting safety tandem with
Morris and he has a pair of interceptions in 2012. Senior placekicker Dan Tryon
is up for the Fred Mitchell Award for the top collegiate kicker in the
Nation and he has converted on eight of ten field goals this year.
