Fire Ruins 2 Homes in South Bethany Beach

SOUTH BETHANY BEACH, Del.- Fire crews battled flames at a development in South Bethany Beach early Thursday morning.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office said firefighters got the call at around 3:30 a.m. on the unit block of South Anchorage Avenue, near Route 1 and Heritage Way.

The Bethany Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by several surrounding fire departments. Upon arrival they encountered heavy fire involving two homes. 

No injuries were reported. Damages to the two homes have been estimated at $1 million.  

State Fire Marshal investigators are continuing their investigation to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
