Washington College Assistant Baseball Coach Lands Summer Gig

EDENTON, N.C.- First-year Washington College assistant baseball coach Ted Hurvul has signed a contract to serve as the pitching coach for the Edenton (NC) Steamers of the Coastal Plains League this summer.

The Coastal Plains League is a summer wood-bat league for college players with 14 teams in Virginia and the Carolinas. The job with the Steamers will be the first summer league coaching position for Hurvul, who was hired at Washington College in July and serves as the Shoremen's pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.

Hurvul pitched at Division I University of Connecticut, making 31 career pitching appearances. He was a member of the Huskies' 2010 and 2011 NCAA Division I Tournament teams, pitching in the 2010 tournament. He graduated from UConn last spring.
