Bridgeville Man Arrested for Raping 11-year-old

MAGNOLIA, Del.- Delaware State Police Detectives arrested a 55-year-old Bridgeville man in connection with allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl over a one year period.

Delaware State Police say the investigation began earlier this month when detectives learned Benjamin Charleston Jr. was accused of raping an 11-year-old girl at a home on Mabel Drive in London Village in Magnolia.  Police say the victim reported the sexual assaults to a family member.
 
Police arrested Charleston on Wednesday at a home in Bridgeville.  According to Delaware State Police, he faces 18 counts of First Degree Rape, Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Police say he was committed to JTVCC on $462,500.00 secured bond.
