Del. Water Authority: 'Information Release' Soon

Posted:

CAMDEN, Del. (AP/WBOC)- The chairman of the Camden-Wyoming Sewer and Water Authority said he expects an "information release" soon in a public records dispute.

Mark Dyer, chairman of the authority, said Thursday that information would come probably by the end of the month. He did not specify what records would be provided.

He also didn't say whether the authority would fully comply with a judge's order to follow Delaware's Freedom of Information Act and disclose information about employee salaries.

The ruling came in a lawsuit filed in May on behalf of Georgette Williams, a Wyoming town council member.

The authority had refused to release the records, saying it is not classified a public body under state law. But lawmakers have amended Delaware's law to specify that the authority must comply with open records requirements.
