SALISBURY, Md.- Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred just before 8 a.m. Saturday in Salisbury.

According to police, troopers responded to the area of Route 13 southbound, near St. Luke's Road, for a single-vehicle collision. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a 1993 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Daniel Webster Wax of Fruitland, had collided with a tree after leaving the roadway. Police said responding troopers have reason to believe the collision was due to a medical emergency.

According to MSP, Wax was the only occupant of the vehicle. Wax was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
