CAMDEN, Del.- A Kent County family has a lot to be thankful for this holiday. They are still together after a terrifying home invasion.
Police say the ordeal unfolded when masked men stormed inside and stole thousands of dollars worth of items at gunpoint.
One woman, who wants to only be identified as Chrissy, said she vividly remembers the sound of the men breaking down her front door.
"It was just like a 'Boom! Boom!' And then the third time, I heard the chain drop," Chrissy recalled.
The home invasion early one October morning.
"There were four men standing in front of us with masks and guns," Chrissy said.
Delaware State Police say the men have not yet been found.
"They broke my bathroom door off, they flipped my dresser, they knocked us to the floor and tied us up with our hands behind our back and our feet. The baby sleeps in front of me so they put us between our bed and the baby's bed and they held the gun to the baby," said Chrissy.
Chrissy says her three other children, who range in age from 3 to 6, were just feet away in their bedrooms.
"They kept saying, 'Where's your money? Where's the money?'" Chrissy said.
The family says the masked men stole cash, a new X-Box 360 and even the family dog. They also stole two diamond rings at least 1/4 karat a piece, a male diamond pinky ring, two cellphones, an MP3 player, kids' jewelry and more.
The dog that was stolen is a Braveheart Razors Edge, a pit bull breed. The dog was just 3-months-old.
The family now uses another dog to protect their property, as well as a large wooden 'Keep Out' sign in front of their driveway.
Chrissy says since the ordeal, her children have had a hard time coping.
"There are a lot of young men that wear sweatsuits, so when we go to Wal-Mart, or go anywhere, they'll say, 'There's that bad man that came in our house. There's that man that had the gun. There's that man that stole my dog,'" Chrissy said.
