DOVER, Del. (AP) - Voters in the 4th Council District in Dover will elect a successor to Councilwoman Sophia Russell, who died October.
The election will be held Tuesday.
Wallace R. Dixon, an Air Force retiree and elder at Bibleway Temple Church of God in Christ, is a candidate. He says he will continue Russell's work on behalf of children.
The 71-year-old Dixon served as the city's chaplain for 10 years.
Eighty-three-year-old Bernhard A. Greenfield, a 2-time council candidate, is a retired Family Court juvenile probation officer. He said he would also focus on Dover's youth.
Dover municipal elections are nonpartisan.
