SALISBURY, Md.- In less than a week, a Salisbury eyesore will be no more. Demolition work got under way Monday at the Thrift Travel Inn on North Salisbury Boulevard.

The property was known for being a center of illegal activity, including drugs and prostitution.
The city of Salisbury ordered the motel to be leveled.

The current owners, United Central Bank from Texas, tried to sell the property, but were not successful. The bank will pay for the demolition.
