Markell Calls Senate Session for Judicial Picks

DOVER, Del. (AP)- Gov. Jack Markell has called for a special session of the Delaware state Senate for consideration of several judicial appointments.

Markell said Tuesday that he will call the Senate into a special session on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Markell has nominated Court of Common Pleas Judge Eric Davis and Chief Deputy Attorney General Charles Butler to fill two vacancies on Superior Court. He also has tapped Sussex County chief prosecutor Paula Ryan to fill a Family Court vacancy

Other nominations involve the reappointments of Vice Chancellor John Noble and Superior Court commissioner Lynne Parker, and the appointments of Dawn Williams of the public defender's office and deputy attorney general James Maxwell as Family Court commissioners.
