WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP)- A California truck driver charged in a crash that killed two women in southwestern Pennsylvania says the collision happened when his "brain shut off."
Forty-four-year-old Yevgeniy Bugreyev was ordered Wednesday to stand trial on two counts of vehicular homicide in the weekend crash that killed a mother and daughter from Maryland.
Police say Bugreyev's truck crossed the grass median of Interstate 70 in Washington County on Saturday, striking another car and killing 21-year-old Kaitlin Babka and 57-year-old Karen Babka of Hughesville, Md.
Bugreyev, of West Sacramento, is being held on $1 million bail. Court records don't list an attorney for him.
