LAUREL, Del.- The Delaware State Police needs the public's help in finding 24-year-old Manuel Vasquez, of Delmar.

Police said, Vasquez is wanted for first degree attempted murder during an incident that happened in Laurel.

Police were called to the Five Points Liquor Store on North Central Avenue around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday after a 27-year-old man was found lying on the ground near the rear of the store with stab wounds to his face.

The investigation revealed that the victim had just left the liquor store when he was confronted by Vasquez.  Police said the victim was trying to walk away but both he and Vasquez got into a physical altercation. That's when police said Vasquez stabbed the victim in the face with a knife multiple times.  Vasquez then took off in an unknown direction.

The victim was initially transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and then later transferred to Christiana Hospital for his injuries.
