Delaware Pediatrician Hearing Nears in Waterboarding Case

Posted: Updated:

GEORGETOWN, Del. - The attorney for a Delaware pediatrician accused of waterboarding his 11-year-old stepdaughter says there is no need for a quick trial.

Attorneys for Dr. Melvin Morse of Georgetown say they need to review prosecutor documents and schedule a psychological exam.

They want a trial no sooner than April.

Morse, who has researched near-death experiences involving children, has pleaded not guilty to child endangerment and assault charges.

A hearing is scheduled for next Friday in Delaware.
