Woman Beaten, Kicked During Robbery

NEWARK, Del. (AP)- Newark police say a woman was punched and kicked by two men who stole her purse.

It happened about 5 a.m. Saturday on North College Avenue. Police say the woman, a graduate student at the University of Delaware, was walking when two men punched her and knocked her to the ground.

Officers say the men continued to punch and kick the woman before fleeing with her purse.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of broken bones in her face.
