








Dover, Del. (Dec. 3, 2012) --- A career-tying performance by Tierra
Hawkins in Delaware State's women's basketball win over UMES last Saturday has earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference honors for the Lady Hornet sophomore.
Hawkins
was named MEAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week after tying her
career-high with 28 points in DSU's 67-52 win over the Hawks in Memorial
Hall. The Lady Hornet star was 12-for-15 from the field, led the team
with seven rebounds and recorded three steals in the contest.
The 28 points tied her career high set at Kentucky in the Lady Hornets' season opener on Nov. 10.
Hawkins
is tops on the Lady Hornets and third in the MEAC in scoring at 22.2
points per game (111 total points). She's also fifth in the league in
field goal percentage (.512; 43-for-84 FG) and seventh in rebounding
(8.2 pg).
