MIDDLETOWN, Del.- Delaware State Police say a Georgetown man who was run over by a truck in Middletown last weekend has died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Troopers said that shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 20-year-old Mark W. Crossan was walking on Summit Bridge Road (U.S. 301), north of Marl Pit Road, when he was struck by a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. Police said that after impact, the truck, which had been traveling south on Summit Bridge Road, left the west edge of the roadway and came to rest in a field.

The driver of the truck, identified as 65-year-old Howard S. Johnson of New Castle, was not injured in the collision, according to investigators.

Crossan was transported to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he was admitted with serious injuries. Police said he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
